T-ISS Ultimate Fire Blanket

What is the FI-BL0906 Ultimate Fire Blanket?
The T-ISS FI-BL0906 Ultimate Fire Blanket is a durable and eco-friendly blanket made from 97% high-grade silica, specifically developed to isolate and suppress electric vehicle fires. Proven effective in numerous live tests, it contains flames and significantly reduces smoke and toxic fumes. It is also the most widely used EV fire blanket in the Fire Isolator product line.

Why is the use of a high quality Fire Blanket so important?
Fires involving lithium batteries in electric vehicles can burn for a long time and are challenging to control. The FI-BL0906 Ultimate Fire Blanket is designed to manage these extreme conditions. It can withstand peak temperatures of up to 2900° F (1600° C) and continuous exposure to 2200° F (1200° C) for over 50 hours. This high level of heat resistance is critical for containing long-lasting battery fires.

By cutting off the oxygen supply, the blanket prevents the fire from spreading and helps minimize collateral damage to nearby vehicles or infrastructure. Because it does not ignite during deployment, it offers a reliable layer of protection in critical situations. The blanket is also reusable and can be cleaned after use, making it a sustainable and cost-effective solution.

The FI-BL0906 Ultimate Fire Blanket is suitable for a wide range of vehicle types, including small cars, large pick-ups, and light electric vehicles such as e-scooters and e-bikes. Custom sizes are available upon request to accommodate specific needs.

How do you use the Ultimate Fire Blanket?
Designed for rapid and simple deployment, the blanket can be applied by two people using the clearly marked colored loops. These loops help position the blanket quickly and accurately, even in high-pressure situations. This makes it ideal for use by emergency responders, facility managers, and others who may encounter EV fires.

While the Fire Blanket plays a crucial role in isolating the fire and limiting oxygen, it is not a standalone solution. For optimal results, Fire Isolator recommends using it in combination with other tools in the Fire Isolator concept—such as Aerosol Units, which actively suppress flames, and the Watermist lance, which cools the battery area and helps prevent reignition. These components work together to maximize fire control, minimize toxic smoke, and enhance overall safety during EV fire incidents.

To ensure proper use, Fire Isolator provides an animated instruction video in advance. In addition, training sessions on the Fire Isolator concept and blanket deployment are available for partners and customers.
